ENAMEL BACKGROUND TILES

This tutorial is for PSP 8 although it should work in PSP 7 with some modification.

There are no outside filters or supplies needed for this tutorial.

1.  Begin by opening a 100 X 100 transparent image.

Raster background is checked.

16 million (24 bit ) color is selected.

2.  Set your foreground to the metallic silver gradient

Set your background to the metallic gold 01 gradient

Or gradient /pattern/color of your choice.

3.  Flood fill your image with the metallic gold 01 gradient.

4.  Select your paint brush using the following settings;

Size = 10

Hardness = 50

Step = 25

Density, Thickness & Opacity = 100

Rotation = 0

Then just start drawing lines on your previously filled tile.

It really doesn't matter how many lines you use.

5.  Go to effects/artistic effects/enamel

Use the following settings:

Blur = 20

Detail = 16

Density = 16

Angel = 45

Color = white

6.  Go to effects/reflection/rotating mirror

Use the following settings:

Horizontal offset = 0

Rotation angle = 0

Reflect checked

7. Go to effects/reflection/feedback

Use the following settings:

Opacity = 100

Intensity = 30

Horizontal & Vertical Offset = 0

Elliptical checked

8.  Go to effects/reflection/kaleidoscope

Use the following settings:

Petals = 6

All other settings = 0

Reflect is checked

note: you can save the tile at this point and use it as a seamless tile
or you can continue on.

The following is for  PSP 8 only.

9.  Go to effects/image effects/seamless tile

Use the following settings:

Corner is checked

Bi-directional is checked

Horizontal & Vertical = 4

Transition = 50

You can use your new tile as the border for a background graphic.  Or in a nested background like I have on this page.

You do not have to use gradients for this effect.  You can use any color, gradient or pattern combination you wish.  Experiment and have fun.

The first tile was made using 2 different colors and having 10 petals set on the kaleidoscope filter and the second tile was made using 2 different patterns.
